Lessons are available to the Suzuki student starting at the age of 3 to the adult beginners; all lessons in these instruments will begin with the Suzuki Method and gradually becoming a fusion of both Suzuki and Traditional.
These lessons will start with the student beginning to learn by ear first and then following with the reading of music.
In addition, as an integral part of the program here at the Lydian studio of Music, group classes are mandatory and will involve many aspects of development. There will be an emphasis on ensemble skills, as well as history, theory aspects to the classes. In addition the classes may run in a master class, technique class or recital class format.
RCM exams are geared to involve both methods and are accessible at any stage.

Lessons are available for a variety of ages and abilities.
Teaching of Musicianship skills, technique and basic theory and aural skills using a variety of games and visual aids to promote learning, keeping it a fun, interesting way to learn.
You can play for enjoyment or work towards goals such as exam preparation, recitals and auditions.
Development of supported breath
Posture and Alignment
These will be accomplished through a combination of instrument exercises and repertoire studied.
For these instruments group class will be offered in addition to your regular lessons to work on ensemble skills, technique, history, theory and in master class format.
Working on repertoire can be for exams, festivals, concerts, auditions or just for fun!! Whatever your preference, Lydian School of Music can offer training for you.
This program will give you and your child an opportunity to interact in song, movement and story.
We currently offer 2 classes taking place Friday and Saturday mornings in Sunnyside
9:00-9:45 for babies 6 – 18 months (10 weeks)
10:00-10:45 for toddles 18 months to 4 years of age (10 weeks)

Infants and toddlers learn through the senses and social interaction. A musical environment filled with songs and rhymes will train the ears and their musical senses.
